To Bring Together Persons Having An Interest In Toy Trains

Toy Train Collectors Society Ltd.
What Is T.T. C.S.?
The Toy Train Collector's Society is New York
State's largest and most active organization
devoted to the Collection, preservation and
operation of the treasured electric trains of
days gone by. Founded in 1978 by seven
men right here in Western New York, it has
grown to some 500 active members from all
over the state and from other states and
Canada. It puts out mailings to members,
holds occasional social events, stages
exhibits both (operating and static), and
conducts up to 8 "train shows" a year around
the state; these are events in which
collectors come together to buy, sell, trade or
just look at thousands of trains under one
roof and to enjoy the fellowship associated
with the hobby.

Message From Bob Richter President TTCS
I would like to start by saying thank you to everyone for
letting me have the honor of serving as President of T.T.C.S.
and continue by telling you a little about myself.
I have had an interest in trains for as long as I can
remember. When I was 3 years old my parents purchased my
first set which was a KMT set that I have to this day. I played
with trains throughout my childhood, and I can remember going
to the train station as often as I could just to watch them. There
was a few occasions when I really got lucky, the engineer
would take me for a ride up to the next stop then bring me
back, and of course I was too afraid to tell parents. It was many
years before I let them know about that.
After childhood there was a span in my life of about 15 years
that I got away from trains as other events have happened.
Then I found my interest was there stronger than ever and
over the past 20 years I have been actively involved with my
hobby of trains.
I have built a sizeable collection for myself of HO as well as
O gauge and spent many hours building HO kits.
I have been involved with the club since 1994 and a few
years later was asked to be layout Chairman for what is
referred to as the Eastern Layout.
In 2003 I was elected to the board of directors and have
participated in this capacity since. I have been a vendor at
many shows for the last several years so it has been a great
privilege to have met many fellow hobbyist and toy train
collectors from this club.
It was a sad day when Al Hawk decided to resign as
president, however, it is my hope, with his help and the board
of directors, as well as other past presidents, we can continue
to make this club grow and remain as strong as ever.
